What Is a Portion at Seatopia?Updated 12 days ago

At Seatopia, our boxes are sold in portions— not individual fillets or bags. Portion sizes are established in consultation with professional chefs and nutritionists to reflect appropriate and satisfying serving sizes for each type of seafood and preparation method.

Here's how portions generally break down across our most common products:

- Cooked skin-on fillets (e.g., salmon, steelhead): typically 7.5–8 oz per portion

- Sushi-grade or smoked portions (e.g., Yellowtail, Cold Smoked Steelhead): typically 4–6 oz per portion

- Scallops: one bag is considered two portions

Because products vary by species and intended use, the number of physical bags or fillets in your box may not always equal the portion count listed on the packaging. What should match is the total weight, which reflects the correct number of chef-calibrated portions.
