What Goes Into the Price of Seatopia Seafood?Updated 10 days ago
The price of Seatopia seafood reflects the true cost of doing things right from farm to table.
Premium Sourcing and Farming Standards
Our farm partners raise fish on clean, nutrient-dense feeds including algae-based oil inclusions that elevate Omega-3 content and operate under strict environmental and animal welfare standards. These practices produce superior taste and nutritional integrity, but they require more investment than conventional or commodity aquaculture.
Rigorous Third-Party Safety Testing
Every supplier is tested for heavy metals, microplastics, and other contaminants through certified independent laboratories. Each lot comes with a Certificate of Analysis (COA) that quantifies mercury levels and confirms no detectable microplastics. This level of transparency is not standard in the seafood industry and it has real cost.
Cold-chain integrity
All of our seafood is blast-frozen and kept frozen until it reaches your door. Other retailers may save costs by allowing fish to defrost and refreeze, or slack out on retail shelves. Coldchain integrity and dry ice preserve quality, texture and a premium sashimi grade experience.
Premium Species, Responsibly Raised
Species like King Salmon and Yellowtail are inherently demanding to raise sustainably. Their specific dietary and environmental requirements make them more expensive to produce than commodity seafood.
An Investment in Regenerative Food Systems
Many in the Seatopia community think of their membership as more than a grocery purchase. It's a vote for a food system that heals the ocean rather than depleting it — and for seafood that supports long-term health rather than contributing to toxic accumulation.
